President & CEO
Angelo Accetturo is Astro's founder and creative driving force. He has excelled in the construction and development industry for over 20 years, and has etched his unique style and mark onto virtually every type of building and community design.
A big reason for his success and status in the industry is his "hands-on" tradition. Angelo worked his way up; from construction worker and manager, through development acquisitions and financing, to corporate leader. He has learned every aspect of the industry from direct experience. Consequently, he has a better grasp of what it takes to get the big job done than most of his contemporaries.
Equally important is his almost intuitive understanding of what a market really wants and needs. That's why Astro is typically ahead of the curve in commercial and residential design-always anticipating and providing those extra features, amenities and services its customers are looking for, but often can't find elsewhere.
For example, within Banner Elk, NC alone, Angelo's company has created an infrastructure of complimentary community businesses to provide for almost every lifestyle need imaginable… including restaurants, a winery with villa, retail shopping, single family rentals, business offices, upscale condo living, and a luxury golf resort. VALERIE COGDILL
Corporate Vice President
Valerie Cogdill has worked directly with Angelo since he first moved business operations to North Carolina. From the beginning, she has served as key executive administrator, helping to support Astro's rapid growth and diversification. Attending both Lees McRae college and the University of Tennessee , Valerie's major in Business was well-suited for oversight of Astro's diverse business investments. Over the years she has grown to Corporate Vice President, working closely with both financial institutions and corporate legal advisors in the company's varied property transactions. Her familiarity with Angelo's management style and business goals make her a key contact for those doing business with Astro. She brings exceptional business and organizational savvy to each task, while possessing a unique grasp of Astro's larger corporate focus.
Valerie is both wife and mother, while carrying on her day-to-day duties for Astro. She is an indispensable ingredient within the executive team, and provides vital leadership, clarity and performance at every critical step in the company's evolution.
NORMAN MILLER
Director of Project Construction and Builder Programs
Norman Miller first joined Astro in 2002 as construction manager for The Great Train Robbery shopping emporium in Banner Elk. He has since moved to GC/Construction Manager and Builder Program Director for all of Astro's projects, including Wilderness Trail Luxury Golf Community, the Highland Professional Center and River's Edge townhomes.
Norman is a seasoned professional in residential and commercial construction, with over 35 years in the industry. Originally from Havelock, North Carolina, he graduated from Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, NC with a degree in Biology. During and following college, he took a strong interest in the building trades and soon began to work with key construction companies in and around his eastern North Carolina home area. Rapidly excelling in both hands-on construction expertise and project leadership skills, he soon advanced to senior level building management. Over the years, Norman has achieved increasing accolades in the turn-key construction of major commercial and residential properties. Project markets have included New Bern/Morehead City, Wilmington, Charlotte, Watauga and Avery Counties in North Carolina…plus Rock Hill and Charleston in South Carolina. Construction budgets have exceeded $200,000,000, and residential communities have included both single and multi-family communities. Norman has been a licensed General Contractor since 1984, and is also a certified Erosion Control Inspector. Both of these professional certifications are essential to the successful planning and execution of all Astro and Wilderness Trail developments.
EDWARD BERGMAN
Construction Manager/Florida
Edward serves as both manager of construction and Owner's representative for Astro's Florida based construction and development operations. His background is rich in turn-key commercial, residential, resort and governmental construction management, with hands-on responsibility for single project budgets exceeding $600 Million.
While with Astro, Edward was Director of Construction for Diplomat Properties Limited Partnership, Senior Project Account Executive for StructureTone Inc.--both of Hollywood, Florida, Vice-President of B.F.B., Inc. construction of South Florida, Inc. in Miami, and Construction Manager of 1st Nationwide Bank, also of Miami.

STEVE YORK
Director of Marketing Communications
Steve York is a forty year veteran in business operations management and marketing communications. He majored in Business and Communications in college, and has worked both as a business owner and corporate officer in a variety of industries. His own companies have included advertising agencies, executive search firm, business and marketing consultant, web marketing, print publication and broadcast media management and production services. On the corporate side, Steve has served as national director of marketing, business development, and corporate operations.
Steve joined Astro in 2002, helping the company to develop its growing business operations and marketing programs. He works closely with each of Astro's companies in guiding their individual marketing and communications.
